I haven't been producing any contributions here as I have been busily packing and arranging things for the big move.
The last word from up north on the farm was that they were awaiting the arrival of the pressure pump we purchased to supply better pressure to the house.
The pump had arrived and Ben returned to Sydney that day
The crane hadn't arrived either of the Mondays it was booked to remove the 20000litre cement water tank out of it's location to make way for the new 30000 & 24500 litre rain water tanks as well as the 5000 lire rain water tank on the header stand up the rise.
It wasn't until yesterday we received a call from the farm informing us that the crane had arrived & lifted the 5000 litre tank up on the 6 metre steel tank stand for supply greater pressure to the house.
Apparently the pressure is a lot better but still not great.
We suspect that may be as a result in the badly installed copper piping that may need replacing when we get back to the farm this week coming
But we will try the new pump first and if that doesn't improve the flow we'll install the new copper pipes.
I am going up for a week to take up the already cut out timber chook pen.
Was cheaper to buy it from Sydney and cut it and take up than to buy up there.
It may not get built right away as the painting on & in the house as is more important right now

Signs Of Progress
Today is Sunday 16th Novemeber, 2008.........
The progress so far goes like this......very slowly lol
During the week meremale & brother commenced creating all new fly screen for the windows...good job boys.....glad to see you're not bludging whilst I'm breaking my back packing here.
After the disastrous findings of the copper pipes it has been decided to abort a plumber right now and see if the pressure pump we have purchased off Ebay, will surfice and give good pressure.
This will saved hundred in dollars as the pipes do appear to be in reasonable order
The water tanks have still not been put in postion as they are waiting the arrival of the crane to lift same in place
This should occur tomorrow....yeah right.....

Beginning the Renovations......drama after drama
Today is Tuesday the 11/11........
I had received and call from mere male yesterday that he & his brother Billy, had started on one of the bedrooms to see what needed to be done.
Firstly they had to access the flooring under the old carpet where water had apparently filtered through from the laundry by previous tenants.
As they pulled the carpet back and exposed the floor board it did show a certain amount of rot where part of the flooring needed to be replaced.
They went to town and purchased the required timber flooring etc and started on it today.
As they pulled up the old flooring, part of the wall on the side where the water had filtered through, had to be broken away.
This exposed the copper water pipes, where much to their disgust, old plumbing works obviously not by a plumber had surfaced.
Where some of the copper piping was narrow leading into thicker copper piping and then back to thin piping hence creating the problem.
We were perplexed as to why the water pressure was so bad.
Where the pipe had been too long, some one had bent it in a 45 deg.angle cutting of the natural flow of water restricting the pressure.
After we had purchased expensive thicker hosing to run from the header tank up the hill and back to the house, thinking that would increase the flow, did we find we were wrong and now we know why.....
Now until a plumber attends works in that bedroom cease ....

The Long awaited arrival of 12x12 barn
I have only arrived back from my visit to the farm this past week end where I had been there for a week
I had purchased the paint for the house from Sydney as it was cheaper here plus I could chose what paints that were required
As the lower section of the house was all in one, being the kitchen, dining room & lounge all the walls were in stained pine as was previously mentioned.
The paint I chose for the pine walls was a bit more expensive but will be easier for the painters to apply
We unloaded the paint onto the front veranda along with the implements required
I had arrived on the Saturday where the weather was fine to find the American Style barn had been delivered the previous Friday but as the men that were going to erect it had only been in the AM the barn had not been delivered till the afternoon.
The 2 men were to arrive on the Monday to start the erection but it rained to so hard the didn't arrive.
Same for the crane that was to lift the water tanks and locate them in their places.
On the Tuesday the men came back and started the erection of the barn.
It's amazing to see only 2 men erect this huge barn....
as soon as I can find my camera, I will add photos.......I think I may have left it up the property.
Wednesday was yet another rainy day so no work done that day either.
But come Thursday the men came and put in 2 solid days to complete the erection of the barn.
