Reason for not being able to stay around Sydney any longer is.....

That I have purchased a Commercial Laundry in Grafton.
It is not a laundromat, it's a laundry as we offer services.
The laundry is called the Jacaranda Laundry situated in a good location readily available to customers coming into town or from town to do some washing.
The laundry boast 9 stainless steel Dexter front loading washing machines....
3 top loading washing machines.....
5 electric coin operated dryers for self service....
2 x 55 lb Dexter gas dryers for big loads....
2x 30 lb Dexter gas dryers for even bigger loads like bulk sheets or blanket or towels....
The business also has a small 1997 Daihatsu Move Van to do the deliveries where needed.
The business also boasts 12 permanent contracts.
These contracts alone support the business and I will endeavour to expand the contracts out further.
The shop is open from 8am to 8 pm...but we go home at 4 O'clock.....
The section that is locked away from the public is the section that houses the large dryers as the public has no access to them.
They are too expensive to allow the public to use them.
Once we are going to go home we pull down a roller door that hides these machines and the officer area away but the public still has access to about 15 machines until 8 Pm when a security guard come and turns of the light and locks the doors...
We will not work on the week ends either as the security guard comes and unlocks at 8 am and goes back at 8 pm to lock up again Saturday & Sunday.
I will train Ben is the proceedures in case I am taken ill but mostly he won't be working in there.
I would rather him do his own thing on the farm and look after me when I come home after a long day at work and pamper me....sounds good to me....yeah as if!!!!
I take over the business on the 12th January 2009..........back to the salt mines for me

Christmas Time 2008

Well here we are end of the 26th December,2008.....
Ben is up north with his best friend Theo & his wife Carmel for Xmas as there was no point him wasting money on coming back to Sydney for a couple of days for Xmas in the knowing he still has lots of work to do awaiting my arrival in the 31st.........
The removalistt arrives here 8.00 am this coming Monday morning, the 29th December.
I will stay back a day & a half to do a bit of my own cleaning up as in window sills, wash floors etc.
I have had to arrange some one to mow the lawns, weed the gardens and wash Colourbond fencing surrounding the property while the house is on the market for sale, arrange the Swim Mart guy to come regularly to check that every thing is working alright in the pool...and report back to me....
I have had to arrange for the painter to come in next week after my departure....he in turn has to contact the carpet cleaners when he is finished painting the inside of the house.....then a neighbour will come in to wash the windows.
All need to liaise with each other to get the job done as I will be away up north and no longer able to look after the house.
My daughter Jodi, will come every week to check on mail if any has slipped past the fact that I will have redirected my mail.....as Australia Post is so slack most of the time..we still need to check on them plus she will give the pool its doses of chemicals required to keep it clean.
Reason I cannae be here any long will be in the next chapter

Renovations to House

Even though I loved the stained pine timbered walls through the house, it did make it awfully dark inside.
Especially after Ben had created new screens for the veranda...
Billy had a brain storm and came up with the idea of placing sky lights on the veranda roof to let in more light........
It looks great....

Then Ben changed his mind once again against painting the stained timber and has now, with the help of Billy, Gyprocked the walls.......and now await the players of paint.

Ben had to take Billy back to his own place some 2.5 hours away as Billy acquired a boil on his inner leg.....and was whinging like a school girl....
and wouldn't you wanna know it, Ben's car breaks down...something to do with the brakes and is now stuck in QLD....
I guess the painting will have to wait........

Lastest Events on copper piping

Well my, how things turn around in life.....
After the dramas of the copper water piping, we had eventually obtained the services of a local plumber who has now installed all new copper piping for water & gas through the whole house. (cannae wait for the bill)
We were forced to purchase a new gas fridge ($2700) being an important part of being comfortable in our lives...
Ben had placed the bench top cook gas stove in a you beaut spot right beside the sink...on the bench.
It's been taken away to be fitted with a gas conversation kit.
We had ensured that this was possible before we purchased it.......
Then there is the wall oven which has gone to same way to be converted into gas....
We felt we would purchase these as the gas floor oven was ransacked by mice who bury in the insulation and make a mess....to stop this a wall over, when they cannae hide is a must, plus I don't have to bend down to clean it.
I can do it standing up.....up there for thinking, down there for dancing & romancing....

The new gas lines are in now, so that should last us the rest of our lives and so forth....but no with out an "ouch" for the repairs...some $2600 later......but we ought not complain too much as they did manage to squeeze in the job before Xmas and now all s good with the pressure with the water flow...it's nearly as good as town water , well I must say it's better as we know it's pure...
